REFEREE CLINICS
SMALL SIDED CLINIC
The Small Sided Referee Clinic is the basics of refereeing and is offered to individuals who are no less than 12 years of age. Once an individual is successful in passing this clinic, they are classified as a Small Sided Referee and may officiate in any match with players between U-6 and U-12.
The updated delivery of the 2021 Small Sided Referee clinic will focus on the latest Small Sided Rules teaching materials, and delivery of the clinic has been revised to consist of:
1. Online theory component: (two) 2 hour webinars (zoom) sessions, and online exam followed by;
2. On-field practical component: (one) 2 hour on-field session – not currently available, to be determined once Provincial Health restrictions have been progressively loosened and/or on-field practical sessions are permitted.
Pre-requisite: Minimum 12 Years old

ENTRY LEVEL REFEREE CLINIC
The Entry Level Referee Clinic is the entry point into 11 a-side soccer. Once an individual is successful in passing this clinic they will be classified as a Youth Referee (if they are 14 or 15 years old) or a District Referee (if they are 16 years old or older). The goal of this clinic is to ensure that individuals who pass are capable to be either a Referee or an Assistant Referee in 11 a-side soccer.
The updated delivery of the 2021 Entry Level Referee clinic will focus on the latest FIFA teaching materials, and delivery of the clinic has been revised to consist of:
1. Online theory component: 17 self-guided law-based modules with questions via RefCentre, (one) 2.5-hour webinar (zoom) session, and online exam followed by;
2. On-field practical component: (one) 3.5-hour on-field session – not currently available, to be determined once Provincial Health restrictions have been progressively loosened and/or on-field practical sessions are permitted.
Students will be given a minimum of 7-days to complete the online training.

REFEREE REFRESHER CLINIC
The Canadian Soccer Association and the British Columbia Soccer Association requires all referees to attend a Referee Refresher Clinic annually and register with the BC Soccer office in order to maintain their active status.
Referee Refresher Clinics are designed to update all Registered Referees in British Columbia with any Laws of the Game changes and interpretations. The clinic content of the refresher is developed by the Referee Education Program and launched in August of each year.
Important Note: Referees MUST register online AND pay the fees prior to attending the clinic. No ‘walk-ins’ will be allowed to attend.
To register for a BC Soccer Refresher clinic please follow the steps below:

Log in to your Ref Centre account at www.refcentre.com in the top right hand corner with your e-mail address and password. If you have forgotten your password, please click the "Forgot Password" button in the top right hand corner and your password will be e-mailed to you.

Go to ‘Registration’ then ‘Refresher Courses’. Click register and follow the prompts to complete your registration for the Refresher Clinic.

Once a referee has completed registration (including payment) via Ref Centre, and attends the annual BC Soccer Refresher clinic, he/she will automatically be registered April 1st of the following year.

Referees who have not completed registration for the BC Soccer Refresher clinic (including payment) via Ref Centre will NOT be allowed to attend the BC Soccer Refresher clinic.
