CLUB/RECREATIONAL ACADEMY

Player Academy Program

U6-U7: INTRODUCTORY TRAINING (For Spring, please see U6/7 Pre-Development Academy)

This program is designed to provide a fun and welcoming introduction while teaching the basic skills of soccer.  These sessions will include a variety of fun games and skill-based activities, as well as small sided scrimmages to introduce the game of soccer.

U8-U10: DEVELOPMENT TRAINING

This age group is key to a soccer player's development in their athletic abilities and skills. If one wishes to play high level soccer (such as Varsity or Premier league) in the future, it is necessary that they get the proper coaching during this stage of development. This is where all players should learn ball mastery and begin learning more about the game of play.  These sessions will emphasize on ball control and technique.

U11-U14: INTERMEDIATE TRAINING

This is the age group where we will focus on technical, tactical components of the game with increased pressure and higher demands on focus and discipline.  In addition, a focus on speed and agility is incorporated into training sessions.  This is the stage where players begin participating in competitive drills.

Goalie Academy Program

INTRO GOALIE PROGRAM (U8-U10)

Players interested in learning the position of the goal keeper can train in the academy with a Staff Coach.  These sessions will focus on learning the basics of goalie positioning and play. Goalies may then train with other academy groups in game like situations in order to assess their understanding of the game from the keeper's point of view.  As the goalie progresses, they will focus on goalie skills (diving, positioning, high balls, challenging, etc).

INTERMEDIATE PROGRAM (U11-U13)

Goalies interested in furthering their development as keepers can train in the academy with Staff Coaches.  These sessions will focus on learning all aspects of goalie positioning and play.  Goalies may then train with other academy groups in game like situations in order to assess their understanding of the game from the keeper's point of view.  As the goalie progresses, they will focus on goalie skills (diving, positioning, high balls, challenging, etc).
