On August 24th BC Soccer released the Return To Play Plan for Phase 2. This phase includes limited player contact in training. BC Soccer's definition of limited contact states the following: limited contact is defined as players being able to come together and have involuntary contact (i.e. challenging for the ball, etc.). We ask that coaches still utilize social distancing drills (where possible) and keep the contact to a reasonable amount during your scrimmages. ( we do not want to go back to phase 1 or even worse, have to stop altogether)
BC Soccer has also announced that in September, Cohort games ( that being small groups of teams playing together for the duration of a phase) may be considered with stipulations. We will be sending you more details on games and Cohort groupings as we receive details from South Fraser District.
We want to remind you all that we are still in a pandemic and the following safety protocols are still in effect:
no more than 50 people on a field unless otherwise stipulated by the City of Delta
sanitizing of players hands before and after practices
sanitizing of equipment after practice
only water bottles allowed on the field
no sharing of equipment
no intentional heading drills
no throw-ins
Below is the ViaSort Activity Chart. Note: Phase 2 for soccer moves to the "Progressively Loosening" phase highlighted on the chart.
